At Ahmad Shafay, we value your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our application.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following information:

• Name
• Email address
• Phone number
• Country
• Profile photo
• Messages, photos, videos and voice messages sent through the in-app chat
• Your location, only when you choose to share it in chat (see Section 4)
• Suggestions you send us, including any photos or videos you attach
• Your answers to polls
• Your activity on VD's videos: views, likes, comments and shares
• Products you save to your wishlist and add to your shopping bag
• Product reviews you write: your star rating, title, text and any photos
• Your votes on other customers' reviews, and any review you report
• Your recent searches and recently viewed products in the store
• Account login information
• Device push-notification token
• The last time you used the app

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Authenticate your identity.
• Allow you to update your profile.
• Process password changes and password reset requests.
• Respond to customer support inquiries.
• Help our team place orders on your behalf when you ask us to.
• Keep your wishlist and shopping bag, so they are the same on every phone you sign in on.
• Check and publish the product reviews you write.
• Review your suggestions and let you know their status.
• Show poll results and VD's video counts (views, likes, comments, shares).
• Send you notifications about your account and our announcements.
• Improve the quality and security of our services.

3. Chat Messages

Messages, photos, videos and voice messages sent through the in-app chat are stored so our support team can assist you and maintain service quality.

4. Location

The app asks for location permission only when you tap Share Location in chat. When you do:

• Your current precise location is sent to our support team as a chat message, together with an address you can review and edit before sending.
• The address is looked up by your phone's built-in location service.
• We use it only to help with your order, for example when you ask our team to place an order for you.

We never collect your location in the background, track your movements, or share your location with advertisers. You can deny or revoke location permission at any time in your phone's settings; the rest of the app keeps working.

5. Product Reviews

When you write a review, we store your star rating, the title and text you write, any photos you add, and the date.

• Your review is public. Once our team approves it, every customer using the app can see it, together with your full name as it appears on your account.
• Photos you add to a review can be opened by anyone who has their link. Please do not include personal details, other people's faces or documents in review photos.
• Ratings: you can rate each product once. Your rating counts toward the product's average as soon as you send it, even before your review is approved.
• If our team rejects your review, it is no longer shown and its photos are deleted. Your star rating stays in the product's average.
• Votes and reports: when you mark a review as helpful or report it, we store your choice and any reason you give. The other customer is not told who reported their review.

6. Microphone, Camera and Photos

The app uses your microphone only while you record a voice message, and your camera and photo library only when you choose a photo or video to send in chat, attach to a suggestion, or add to a review. We do not access them at any other time.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. However, no internet transmission or electronic storage method is completely secure.

8. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information.

Approved product reviews, with your full name, are shown to other customers in the app (see Section 5). Apart from that, we may share information only:

• When required by law.
• To protect our legal rights.
• With trusted service providers who help operate the application, subject to appropriate confidentiality obligations.

9. Your Rights

You may:

• Update your profile information.
• Change your password.
• Reset your password if forgotten.
• Allow or deny location, microphone, camera and photo permissions at any time.
• Request deletion of your account and personal information. Deleting your account also removes your wishlist, shopping bag, reviews, ratings, votes, reports and review photos.
• Contact us regarding your personal information.

10. Third-Party Services

The application uses trusted third-party services for authentication, hosting, file storage, notifications, and other essential functionality, including Supabase (hosting and storage), Google Firebase (push notifications) and Google Sign-In. Your phone's operating system provides the address lookup for shared locations. These providers process data according to their own privacy policies.

11. Shopping in the App

In the current version of the app, the store is part of the app itself. Your wishlist and shopping bag are saved to your app account. Your recent searches and recently viewed products are kept on your phone. Online checkout is not available in the app yet; prices and stock shown in the app are for information until you place an order with our team.

In older versions of the app, the Store tab and the "Shop Now" buttons on VD's videos load ahmadshafay.com inside the app. Anything you do there — including signing in to the store and adding items to a cart — is handled by the store and its own privacy policy, and is separate from your app account.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be published within the application, and the updated date will be revised accordingly.
